Photo Mixtape No. 1

A visual playlist for an adventure in Japan

Categories: Destinations — Jonathan Rahmani

I traveled to Japan after years of saying I would “one day.” I spent a month wandering between major cities, mountain huts, forest ryokan, and seaside villages. I made real friends, but often spent time feeling like a complete outsider–in the best way possible. I miss it.  This photo mixtape is a collection of songs from new and old Japanese or Japanese-influenced artists. I’d say it’s a rough approximation of the experiences and moments of my trip; I hope you enjoy it.

  1. Hiroshi Yoshimura ‎– Green
  2. Motohiko Hamase – Pascal
  3. Hiroshi Yoshimura ‎– Something Blue
  4. Cibo Matto – Sunday, Pt. 2
  5. Hiroshi Sato – Jo Do
  6. Air – Alone In Kyoto
  7. Ryuichi Sakamoto – A Flower Is Not a Flower
  8. Ryuichi Sakamoto – Merry Christmas Mr. Lawrence
  9. Fumitake Uchida – Train Window
  10. Mark Redito FKA Spazzkid (Feat. Sarah Bonito) – Truly
