From Pixel to Place

Exploring the Worlds of Digital & Physical Design

Events — Airbnb Editorial

How do you design an exceptional experience? Does it live on a screen, or in real life? Should you break the barriers between the two?

Airbnb Design invites you to an evening at the Barbican Conservatory to immerse yourself in a space that exists between two dimensions — one physical, the other digital.

Join us for “From Pixel to Place,” a lively industry conversation moderated by It’s Nice That Co-founder Alex Bec along with Senior Curator of Design, Architecture, and Digital at the V&A Museum Corinna Gardner, Mona Kim Projects’ Founder & Creative Director Mona Kim, Partner and Creative Director of International Magic Adam Rodgers, and Airbnb’s VP of Design Alex Schleifer. Together we’ll explore the role design plays in blending physical and digital environments in travel, fashion, media, art and retail for a holistic consumer journey. We’ll also investigate the ethical guardrails of pushing the boundaries of emerging technology.

In conjunction with Bompas & Parr, we’ll drop you into a tropical oasis of immersive experiences—accompanied by a live score—that bring the travel stories of Airbnbmag to life.

Light fare and cocktails will be served.
